About This Study:

This project comes out of a long-standing collaboration between Drs. Galupo & Bauerband.  

Together they have developed both the Sexual Orientation Reflection and Rumination Scale (SRRS; Galupo & Bauerband, 2016) and the Gender Identity Reflections and Rumination Scale (GRRS: Bauerband & Galupo, 2014).

Scale Development:

For this project, we are developing a scale that centers the lived experiences of trans and nonbinary people rather than clinicians’ descriptions of their clients reported dysphoria. To do this we have conducted extensive qualitative work on how trans people describe dysphoria. We then worked with a group of trans-identified researchers with expertise in trans health to develop items for our scales and are currently conducting cognitive interviews to get feedback on these items from community members.
